DotRational Indexer - DotRational Indexer (for Windows XP and Vista) enables you to map and retrieve your files with your own keywords. It supports the preview and retrieval of image, audio, video, Word and Acrobat documents and enables you to view ExiF and ID3 files tags. It offers a lightning-fast and flexible way of organising your project, office, pastime or hobby files, reducing mouse-clicks to retrieve what you’re seeking. 30-day trial version available.

Software that supports the retrieval of images with user-defined keywords is familiar. DotRational Indexer builds on this by supporting a range of different files, including AVI, BMP, DOC, GIF, JPG/JPEG, MP3, MPEG, PDF, PNG, RTF, SWF, TIF, WAV, WMA and WMV file formats, with appropriate media-playback in situ. The inclusion of Microsoft Word DOC files and Adobe Acrobat PDF files here is at the heart of what Indexer does, allowing document previews, page scrolling and navigation as well as preview zooming. It even supports text-searching in these two document files. This enables users to track down files accurately before opening them in their parent application.

Because Indexer supports this range of file formats, it’s an application ideally suited to the management of project-based file sets. “Find all files (any format) related to the London office + client X” works just as well as “Find all holiday photographs taken in Italy that include Cathy”. You can also attach free-text comments to individual files and then search across a whole index for specific text.

As well as excelling at file-retrieval, Indexer provides various other functions, including:
- generating printable reports (with or without thumbnail images) which can also be saved to PDF format with bookmarks and thumbnails included
- viewing and searching for matching contents of ExiF image or ID3 audio headers

All this is available even if you don’t have Microsoft Word or Adobe Acrobat/Reader installed.

END-USER LICENSE AGREEMENT

This End-User License Agreement (the "Agreement") is a legal agreement between you (either an individual or a single entity) and DotRational setting forth how you can use DotRational's computer software, documentation and other associated media ("THE SOFTWARE"). You acknowledge that you agree to its terms by downloading, installing, and/or using THE SOFTWARE.

END-USER LICENSE AGREEMENT

1. OWNERSHIP OF PROPERTY RIGHTS. THE SOFTWARE is licensed, not sold. All software, help files, et cetera are and will remain the property of DotRational and are protected by the copyright laws of Europe and other countries.

2. NOT A SITE LICENSE. You may install THE SOFTWARE on a single computer. The term "THE SOFTWARE" includes the computer programs, documentation and any other associated media. You may not install The SOFTWARE on multiple computers or a network server unless you have purchased a separate Site License. Please refer to the "Site License" section in the accompanying help file for further details and pricing. PLEASE NOTE THAT A SITE LICENSE INCLUDES ONE COPY OF THE SOFTWARE AND ANY OTHER ASSOCIATED MEDIA. The Site License allows you to copy the software to any machine on the licensed site.

3. License Limits. All licenses are prepaid, non-exclusive and non-transferable. You agree that you will not decompile or reverse engineer THE SOFTWARE or utilize any information obtained from DotRational or obtained or learned in the course of using THE SOFTWARE, to develop or improve technology with similar functionality to THE SOFTWARE, nor will you directly or indirectly assist any other party in doing so. You further agree that you will not separate the various modules of THE SOFTWARE for their different purposes, if any.

4. WARRANTY DISCLAIMER. All programs are provided "as is" without any warranty of any kind, either implied or expressed, including, but not limited to, the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, functionality, or data integrity, or protection. The entire risk as to the quality and performance of the program is with the user. Should the program prove defective, you, and not DotRational assume the entire cost of any necessary repairs or corrections. DotRational does not warrant that the functions contained within any of its programs will meet your requirements or that the operation of any of its programs will be uninterrupted or error free.

5. LIMITATION OF REMEDIES. In no event will DotRational be liable for any damages, including, but not limited to, lost profits, business interruptions, or other incidental or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use the program (whether or not due to any defects therein) even if DotRational has been advised of the possibility of such damages, or for any claim by any other party. In no event shall DotRational's liability ever exceed the price paid for the license to use the software, regardless of the form of the claim.

6. ACKNOWLEDGMENT. Your use of any software produced by DotRational is based only on your acknowledgement that you have read this Agreement, understand it, and agree to be bound by its terms and conditions. You further agree that it is the complete and exclusive statement of the Agreement between you and DotRational which supersedes all proposals or prior agreements, oral or written, and all other communications between you and DotRational relating to the subject matter of this Agreement.
